Richard`s Seafood Patio in Abbeville

Born and raised in Abbeville but never before had I eaten here and I'm 43. The crawfish were very good but the wait time was very lengthy. The place was packed but I was with great company (my childhood girlfriends) which made the wait time bearable! I'll be back.

Best LARGE crawfish I've had in years. Just right seasoning.

Buffet was good. Seafood gumbo was GREAT

I eat out three to four times a week and try to find new places. I had not been to Richards in probably ten years, not from the area. We had the buffet, best in the area. The selections are great, Boiled shrimp, crabs, seafood gumbo (as good as I have eaten anywhere). The crawfish etouffee same as the gumbo. The fried crawfish, catfish, shrimp and frog legs are constantly put out in small batches so it is always fresh and hot. The wait is not bad and the servers and owners are as nice as can be. We now make a plan to eat here at least every other week.

Richard's is not elegant or fancy, but the food here is fantastic. Servers and kitchen staff are also very friendly and helpful. Great fried catfish! When in season, the Crawfish are great.

The food was awesome, the boiled shrimp was a little spicy for me, so the help rinsed it off for me. It was great after that,I really thought that was so nice. Normally you just eat or don't eat it. I can't wait to go back to Lafayette La. and go there again.

Crawfish were large, buffet has tons of seafood but very bland. Main complaint from me is highly over priced.

Not enough for your money, floors were so dang sticky it pulled my flip flop off my foot almost making me fall, food didn't taste the greatest.

If you are looking for really good seafood that is off the beaten path then look no more. This place may not be formal but it's 5-star in every other way. Just ask all the locals that pack this place. Great selection on the buffet! Awesome service!

The fried Alligator tail is to die for so awesome.

Awesome spot to buy some food when in a hurry. The customer service is efficient, rates are fair, good vibes. Will come visit again

If you follow the traveler's adage "go where the locals go" then Richard's is the place for you. It's a no frills environment where it's easy to see and hear the very friendly servers. Menu focuses on Cajun favorites including boiled crawfish and crabs when in season. Bottom line; the food is great! If you're a local, you've probably already heard how good this place is. If you're traveling through and looking for a true Cajun seafood restaurant, you need not look further.

They have a good selection on the menu. Crawfish are always good, not great, but definitely good. Charbroiled oysters are great. Service is quick and friendly.

The buffet didn't have much of a selection and a few times was empty. The service was good but the wait time and selection is not worth it.

Its not right you automatically have to leave a $15-$20 tip for a horrible waitress. Everyone had seperate checks and she hit all 3 of us for that. The bus boy brought our food. And NO they were not busy. VERY VERY DISAPPIONTED! Wont be back.

There food is always good. Sometimes something my not been up to par, but there's much to choose from on the buffet. The crawfish were a bit small but its early in the season. They had amazing taste, flavor and peeled easy

Casual dining with fried seafood buffet & boiled shrimp, reasonably priced. You can also order from the menu. We went on Saturday around 6pm. No wait to be seated

Great place just wish they would add oysters and other seafood items to the buffet.

Food was ok but way over priced for a seafood restaurant that close to the coast. I live 300 miles from the coast where all ocean seafood has to be trucked in and the prices here are cheaper with the quality much better at small seafood restaurants where I live. Also I ordered the large grilled catfish basket for 1799 my wife ordered small for 1599 save the two dollars and order the small you get the same amount of food as the large. And if your looking for a healthier alternative to fried fish don't get the grilled fish it is covered in either butter or Olive oil. Only real positive is that it had a real friendly atmosphere

Crabs were full, buffet was awesome. The chicken and sausage gumbo reminded you of fall and the first cold spell.

I just moved back to Abbeville and this place is full of memories for me.
